He thinks too deeply

For anyone who knows my Troy, you know his dream is to be a marine biologist. He lives for fish and everything that lives in the ocean. Sometimes you may wonder how much your kids pay attention to the world around them. I know Troy pays plenty of attention to the things going on. Sometimes they bother him too much.

Also, if you know Troy, you know he struggles with severe dyslexia and other learning disabilities. These can really get in the way of such an intelligent boy. These disabilities seem to want to crush his spirit sometimes and then other times it's like they don't even have a foot in the door.

Yesterday, Troy wrote a poem. It is quite a deep and touching poem. It really shows the reader his love for animal life and also how much Troy pays attention to the world around him.

Moan for the Fish

Lifeless in the harbor is where they lie
Be the work we know not, tis wind or rain or poison
Death is what fell upon these fish
Cold bodies scents grow foully
Boats move not from the harbor
Swim nor splash we cannot
For the fish we must cry


I am so proud of him. I just had to share this because it was too good to just put in the drawers.
